The release notes for the upcoming release are:

New features

• Elements

  • Shell elements: Reissner-Mindlin shell elements with three translations and three rotations per node for three-dimensional models: the flat elements u3-shell (MITC3) and u4-shell (MITC4) and the curved quadratic elements u6-shell (MITC6) and u8-shell (MITC9 with a condensed centre node). The mixed interpolation of the strains avoids shear and membrane locking. Wall thickness and elastic constants are defined with the new material sub-keyword *Shell properties. See the Theory Manual and the benchmarks listed below.
