Strip foundation on

This tutorial sets up a 2D axisymmetric model of a circular, rigid foundation resting on a homogeneous soil layer, subjected to a uniform surface pressure of 500 kN/m². You will create the geometry in GiD, configure the soil–structure interaction in numgeo-GiD, and define the analysis stages.

The objectives of this tutorial are:

  • Generate a 2D axisymmetric model with multiple bodies (foundation and soil) using GiD’s CAD tools.
  • Define the soil–structure interaction (contact) in numgeo-GiD.
  • Specify initial conditions and the loading sequence in numgeo-GiD.
